FAQ

Q: What size area do I need for the Petting Zoo?
A:
We can set-up your zoo just about any size! It can be as big as 20 feet by 30 feet...  round, square, L shape, long and narrow... however fits your area best. Smaller areas are ok too- we size to fit. The zoo fencing holds all our animals and about 20 kids comfortably at one time.

Q: Where can the petting zoo be set-up?
A:
The animals prefer grass... but we can set-up on a drive-way, on dirt, rock, a parking lot or even astro turf (although the animals still can't figure out why they can't eat that!)
Q: What do I have to do to prepare for the zoo?
A: Nothing! When we arrive, just point to the spot you would like your zoo. We set-up, keep the zoo clean the whole time we are there, help the kids interact with all the animals, and then be sure everything is clean and how it was when we arrived.

Q: Will the animals eat my grass or vegetation?
A:
The animals may nibble here and there but not enough to hurt any of your plants or the grass. If you have special flowers or plants we will be sure not to let the kids walk the goats around on leashes outside the zoo fence.

Q: What do the animals and ponies do when they are not partying?
A: The animals and ponies actually spend more time not working than working. At home they kick back and just do their thing... the goats play and graze, the ponies all hang out in the pasture, the chickens work on finding the best bugs, the bunnies groom one another, the piggies lay in the sun, and the ducks busily travel around the yard looking for snails. We are not sure what the turkey actually does... whenever we walk by she has a blank look on her face- we think she is still searching for her identity.

Q:
What if the pony poops?

A: A definite possibility because... poop happens on the farm! But no worries- we quickly scoop the poop and take it with us to dispose of it (actually, we use it as garden fertilizer at home!). Good news is that the poop does not permanantly stain driveways, sidewalks or other walking paths.

Q: What happens if it rains?
A:
For the Petting Zoo, we carry a 12' x 12' pop open canopy with us all the time and it can be set-up at no extra charge. The zoo stays dry and can be enjoyed any time of year. Petting zoos can also be set-up under a covered patio or even in a garage. Pony Rides can go on rain or shine as well... we don't mind getting wet and neither do the ponies since they seem to like to play in the rain half the time anyway! If the weather is extreme however, we are very flexible and understanding... arrangements can be made to postpone or cancel the day of your party due to extreme weather conditions.

Q: Aside from weather, what is your cancellation policy?
A:
We do ask for a $40 deposit to hold your time slot and allow us to plan appropriately for staffing. Please give us at least 48 hours notice should you need to cancel a reservation for reasons other than weather. Less than 48 hours notice for reasons other than weather may possibly forfeit your deposit.
